We often spend a lot of time choosing décor, furniture and accessories, but what about lights? Lights can easily change the look or make a statement in your home, and they have already become an important part of the interior décor. Today I’d like to discuss track lighting, which is perfect for any modern home if you want to highlight some part of it.
Track lights can be used in any room and in any area, they are flexible in size, look and position. While gorgeous pendant lights and brilliant chandeliers steal the spotlight, track lighting has an appeal of its own. An ability to provide light with varying intensity and in different angles is what gives track lighting its uniqueness.
Track lighting can be used in bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, dining areas and even hallways, and everywhere they add a modern feel. They are also very helpful in rooms where you need lot of light in particular area to work under, for example, in a home office. You can use track lights for accentuating artworks or display units.
Kitchens
In the kitchens we usually accentuate a kitchen island or some breakfast area. Keep the track lights in the same style and colors as the whole kitchen: they can be whitewashed, black, copper or any other, they vary in size and you can change the intensity of light. The countertops can be also lit up with them because you cook there, and over your dining area.
Living Rooms
As for living rooms or areas, you can try to accentuate artworks or photos on the walls or ledges. Sculptures and other focal points can be easily lit up using track lights. You can also highlight your seating or reading area in the living room or a faux fireplace. The track lights can be even around the whole perimeter of the room if you want it. And again, keep the track lights in the same style and colors as your room, they should continue the décor line and not contrast.
Bedrooms
Here you can accentuate your sleeping zone or again some artwork. Track lights can function as the main source of light because they are practical, and it’s especially a good idea if the bedroom is small and white, it means that there will be enough light. If the ceilings are too high, just hang some strings and put track lights on them.
Hallways
Track lights are very popular for using in hallways because they are functional and bring enough light, so you won’t need any other lamps. Accentuate you artworks, photos, bookshelves or displays or just hang them all over the hallway.
