This gorgeous duplex is located on the top of a historic building in Tribeca, New York, and it looks absolutely different from the rest of the building.
A new penthouse was added to the top of a historic building in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood. Named Cast Iron House, the original structure was completed in 1881 and is one of the city’s best examples of 19th century cast-iron architecture. located on the corner of Franklin Street and Broadway, the building contains 11 duplex residences — ranging from three to five bedrooms — and two penthouses.
Now the first model residence at Cast Iron House has been revealed. Interior designer Brad Ford, treated the original cast iron façade as a bottle with the newly built interior as the protected ship. The telescoping walls can either be closed for privacy or opened to allow the elements in, for example, gorgeous views of New York or green grass growing along the line of the terrace.
The double height ceilings are highlighted with windows, which fill the spaces with natural light. The interiors are modern and luxurious, very comfortable and inviting, the color scheme is rather neutral with cream, beige, grey and touches of amber. The furniture is a mix of vintage pieces and some locally sourced items, it looks cool and comfy. In the master bedroom the neutral backdrop is spruced up with chic dark furniture: black leather and wood chairs, a black and wood bed and a round coffee table. Get more of this refined duplex below!
