How To Stencil A Patio
If needed, prepare the surface. If there are old tiles, remove them to expose the concrete. Clean the surface well and let it dry completely. Fill any cracks with crack seal and smooth the surface with sandpaper.
After cleaning the surface, use a leaf blower to remove debris. Paint the patio a base, neutral color using a brush and roller. Use exterior paint designed for concrete that includes primer. Check the weather to ensure the paint can dry properly. Let the base color dry fully before starting the stenciling. Choose vibrant colors that will stand out against the background and endure sunlight exposure.
The stenciling process isn’t that hard:
- Align the first stencil with a concrete joint to get a straight line.
- Secure the stencil with painter’s tape.
