Lack of sleep and insomnia have become a real scourge in the modern world. Sleep deficiency can cause trouble learning, focusing, and reacting, and in a long run can lead to physical and mental health problems. Insomnia leads to even worse consequences that I wouldn’t like to mention even. With all that said, sleep is one of the most important things in our lives, and we really should provide ourselves with a necessary amount of profound sleep to avoid problems. That means, first of all, a well-designed bedroom that will help you relax and sleep properly. Here are all the points to consider when creating your sleep oasis.
Colors
Though you may think, it’s not that important, colors influence our minds and mood and bright ones can prevent us from sleeping. As for dark shades, it depends on your preferences: if you love moody spaces, that will be great, if not, then perhaps some lighter shades are a nice choice. The most relaxing tones, according to statistics, are warm neutrals, earthy tones and light blues and greens.

A creamy bedroom can be accented with color but prefer calm natural shades, for example, green and yellow.

Mattress
Beds and sleep, or more specifically mattresses and sleep, go hand-in-hand. With a quality mattress, you’ll have the base you need to start improving your quality of sleep. Side sleepers tend to enjoy mattresses with innersprings or a slightly softer foam mattress. Stomach snoozers find their comfort zone on firmer latex or memory foam mattresses and back sleepers benefit from a mattress that’s right in the middle – not too soft, not too hard. Don’t forget a comfortable pillow, preferably, orthopedic or at least ergonomic, with a memory effect.
Lights
The best night light colors for sleep are red and amber, as they are warm and soothing colors that promote a good night’s sleep. It’s thought that colors close to red on the light spectrum stimulate melatonin production. Still, if you don’t like this idea, you can go for just calming and relaxing lights that aren’t too bright. Built-in LEDs, hidden lights and small sconces are welcome to make your bedroom welcoming and soothing.

The bedroom is lit up with small sconces, and this is all the light here, and you won't need more before going to bed.

Humidifier
A humidifier in your bedroom can significantly improve your sleep. It relieves respiratory discomfort, alleviates dryness in the skin and eyes and eases discomfort from tonsillitis. Modern humidifiers aren’t only useful, they are stylish and won’t spoil your interior. Plus, you can get a humidifier and lamp in one.

The neutral bedroom is a welcoming space to be in, and the unique drop-shaped humidifier makes sleeping here better.

This little item is both a lamp and a humidifier, which brings soft light and makes air more breathable.
Bedding
Natural fibers like cotton, linen, or silk are all very breathable, meaning it is easy for air to flow through them. You can also prioritize natural materials like organic cotton, silk, hemp, bamboo, or linen. These materials absorb moisture, regulate temperature, and provide comfort. Such fabrics will be the best choice for bedding, and colors and designs are up to you.

Blue and rust cotton bedding is great for a good sleep: it's natural and this contrasting combo is trendy.

Neutral bedding paired with a bold accent cover looks wow, and its fabric, natural cotton is very breathable.

There's nothing more refined and gorgeous than silk, and investing in a silk bedding set, you will get timeless elegance and a better sleep.
Curtains
Complete darkness increases melatonin, so you fall asleep easier and sleep more profoundly. Block-out curtains are perfect for a bedroom as they let almost no light in, and that’s exactly what we need. If you don’t have such curtains or don’t feel like buying them, you can choose layered treatments, for example, shades or blinds and curtains, which will block a lot of light, too.

If you don't have block out curtains, you can stick to layered treatments, which will also block out a lot of light.
