Tracks table is an example of modern and trendy design created by Belgian designer Alain Gilles, it’s an extendable table with a transparent glass tabletop held in place by a pair of contrasting colored steel rails resting on a ‘tie’-like wooden frame. The tracks are basically the two parallel axes that define the logic of the piece and act as the path for the extensions. The table is kind of a discussion between visibility and invisibility, weight and weightlessness, cold and warm with the use of a combination of very different materials that convey different and contrasted feelings. Depending on how you perceive different structural elements of the table, every person will take it differently.
