Pots and planters are common for any garden, whether you are practicing container gardening or not. We usually use them for nothing else but planting but I’d like to offer you a totally different idea. If you have a broken terracotta pot at hand or a couple of such pots, don’t throw them away, upcycle them into something cool! Why using broken pots? This is sustainable, it’s about giving new life to old things, even not just old but broken. Besides, it’s a cool way to give a new and out-of-the-box touch to your garden, to outdoor and even indoor spaces – seeing beauty in imperfections is a unique view of life. What to turn a broken pot into? It can be a mini garden or a garden decoration like a spill flower pot or just make a garden in a piece of pot to upcycle and get a creative touch to your garden decor. We’ve rounded up some ideas on both, take a look!
Broken Pot Mini Gardens
Make a mini garden of your broken pot or several pots. How to do that? First of all, take a large broken pot or even break one if you want. Use the shards and parts of the pot to create a terraced look and plant something you like: succulents and cacti, bright groundcovers and greenery, moss or blooms. Add pebbles and rocks and voila! You may also get a larger garden making it of several broken pots placed into each other. If you like fairy tale gardens or want to excite your kids, for example, you can add fairy houses and furniture, little fairy and animal figurines to the planters.
