If you are looking for a gorgeous holiday home to get inspired, look no further because here it is! Welcome to the remote Greek island of Santorini, where blue domes and white dwellings embedded in stone celebrate Cycladic architecture. This summer house designed by Kapsimalis Architects is located in Oia, a place known for its “cute” architecture and magical sunsets.
The project makes the most of its cliffside position, embracing the views from an exterior courtyard. This outdoor platform comes with a vaulted space for dining, lounge chairs and an infinity swimming pool overlooking the caldera. A twisted exterior stairway connects the two levels of the dwelling.
Once inside, you discover the sitting room with a small kitchen, two en-suite bedrooms and a sauna. The designers took advantage of the organic curves of the dwelling and created sculptural interiors. One of the en-suite bedrooms features a round glass door, which subtly marks the transition between the social and private areas. Such a door highlights the cave-like appearance of the space but gives it a modern feel.
The interior and exterior walls were built from volcanic stones and white plaster, while the floors have light beige marble and cement plaster finishes. Well-chosen materials and textures throughout add to the originality of this cliffside home in Greece. Gorgeous views that are seen from almost everywhere add more charm to the spaces. Now enjoy all the pics of this amazing house on a Greek island below!
