Artist Stephen Turner designed a studio space as a personal experiment in minimal life – an egg-shaped floating home and studio space. First, he thought it to be an installation but now he uses it as a yearlong home. The entire home is wrapped in wood; the outside of the egg is mostly unadorned, with the small exception of a few circular windows and this stained-wood ornament. Inside there is a basic shower and cooking devices, as well as a hammock to rest in, there’s an entrance and removable dock built on the side of the Exbury Egg. I think sleeping inside such a marine pod is very calm because rain and wind are heard very well, and the nature is so close.
