This desk is industrial though very refined and original – it’s Torque by Alessandro Isola and Supriya Mankad. Torque is the name chosen for the desk because it reminds of turquoise – there is a beautiful touch of this color on one side. All the components of the piece are functional due to clever engineering and handcraftsmanship. The flat plane of the desk is folded to support itself at one end while seemingly resting on a stack of drawers in the other end. The rotating drawers are cantilevered around the spine which performs multiple functions of a support, a pivot and a cable management system connecting potential floor point all the way up to the desk surface.
