Kitchens are very important in every home, they should be functional for cleaning, cooking, storing and eating and stylish at the same time. It’s pretty hard to create a balance, and especially to give a character and mood to the kitchen. Not everyone can keep this equilibrium but some designers and owners manage to do that, and today’s kitchen is right one of these.
This kitchen belongs to Lieve Saether, Owner at Turnstyle Design, and it was designed by herself, it was really a dramatic renovation. Saether’s strong suit is unexpected mixes of pattern, color, and texture. She says the key is not too take them too seriously and follow your own creative intuition. Going for chevron wallpapers was a daring solution but it looks unusual and completely changes the space. the furniture and all the cabinets are white, the designer decided to add some cool glam touches, so she chose gold for some doors, door handles and lamps. Open shelves in the kitchen are a popular way to add more kitchen storage because they don’t look bulky and can accommodate a lot of things.
The dining zone is separated with a space divider that is used as a countertop at the same time. Patterned wallpapers look great with rough brick clad, and there are several striped textiles – a rug and curtains. The wall with doors to the terrace is decorate in black for a contrast, and that again shows how good the designer is at mixing patterns. Enjoy the pics below!
