This amazing colorful home is filled with bold touches and breathes with traditional Romanian culture, which makes it so special.
This amazing home in Romania features traditional Romanian village features and elements of culture. The design was done by owner and designer Alina Alexe, let’s have a look what she created for her own living.
The house she has bought was a decrepit traditional village house with only two rooms and a detached kitchen. The designer transformed the existing rooms into bedrooms, tore down the old kitchen and extended the construction towards the rear of the property. The addition consists of a large living room, new kitchen and bathroom. Alina Alexe kept the main façade with its traditional balcony and green patterns flanking the main entrance. All doors were restored and painted turquoise, which brings a serene and refreshing touch to the entire scheme.
As for decor, the walls and floors are white and light-colored to create a proper backdrop for patterned and colorful furniture and artworks. There are many colorful and patterned pieces; some furniture inside was recycled and some was adjusted. You’ll also see some artifacts gathered by the owners during their life journey. Traditional masks and various inserts from the Romanian village’s folklore add special coloring to the space. Enjoy looking at these unique and personalized spaces!
