Waiting for a little miracle? Then you are probably decorating a nursery for your child or children and you may have some problems with that. Let’s see how to decorate a nursery effectively and what you should have in it. First of all, it’s a baby sleeping area with a crib, second, it’s a changing station; these two are the most important spaces in every nursery. don’t forget to organize a nursery’s closet right and to leave some space for yourself. Puzzling over how to do all that right? Here’s advice.
Sleeping Area
The main spot in a nursery is of course your kid’s crib. It should be comfortable, functional and maybe versatile if you want it. Accentuate this area somehow: add a canopy, a sign, a gallery wall and don’t forget a mobile to keep the baby busy and let him or her enjoy seeing the mobile before falling asleep.
Changing Station
This is another very important space in your nursery, it should be super functional, here practical storage solutions are a key to success. Make your changing station repurposing an old table or a dresser, sand it and paint so that it matched your nursery style. Hang a pegboard and attach shelves and hooks for storage to it, use drawers, cubbies or just make open shelving above the changing table. If your nursery is small, a folding changing table is a brilliant idea, there are lots of them on the market.
Closets
Kids’ things are pretty small, so you won’t need much space for a nursery closet. Add holder for clothes hangers, cubbies, boxes, shelves and you’ll be able to store not only clothes and shoes there but also other things that you need for the baby, you can even hide your changing table there if you have some doors. The closet may be also opened or with curtains to hide it.
Seating Area For Parents
One thing that we always forget while decorating a nursery is a parents’ nook, a place where you will sit while your baby is sleeping, while you are reading to the child or during other actions. Make your personal nook comfy and cozy because you are gonna spend a lot of time there. Choose the most comfortable chair or armchair upholstered in the best way to keep you warm and cozy all the time, add a fun ottoman or pouf and you may also decorate this area somehow. If it’s a twin nursery, put a long seating between two beds to make it comfortable. If the nursery is too small, use the window sill to make a comfy seating.
