This space injected with color is part of a Scandinavian home with lots of vintage finds and potted plants.

We are used to see monochrome Scandinavian homes with minimal detailing but this home is none of that kind. This house belongs to Stockholm home designer Amelia Widell, and it’s decorated skillfully in subtle pastel hues with a soft, Scandinavian aesthetic.

The living room is done neutral to become a perfect backdrop for colorful furniture and the owner’s collection of vintage pieces. The sofa injects an accent of pink into the scheme. The sideboard behind the sofa is topped with framed paintings, drawings and photographs alongside treasured objects. I totally love the deep purple upholstered armchair next to the sofa, it makes the space more dramatic. Lots of potted greenery enlivens the space and there’s a glass table that adds a glam feel.

The kitchen is done grey, there’s a vintage chandelier and a mosaic tiles floor to make the peaceful space stand out more. The dining table with a light-colored wooden top is from IKEA, and the chairs of the same wood shade match perfectly. No curtains here bring more natural light inside, which is essential for Scandinavian countries with not much sunlight.

The bedroom is painted a calm greyish shade of blue, and there’s a vintage sideboard, which is used to store shoes. There are also some potted plants of eye-catchy shades – look at those purple leaves! A peaceful-looking bed is accentuated with a dark green velvet ottoman, a blue velvet pouf and a creamy upholstered daybed. Vintage lamps, a mirror and a sideboard finish off the calm space and make it stand out a bit.
