This ivy-covered farmhouse is not what you’d expect to find tucked at the end of a cul-de-sac in Oakland, California. It’s a leafy green oasis in the middle of a neighborhood. There are mature trees, flower boxes, swaths of ivy and tall hedges that make it feel like you’ve stumbled across a Secret Garden in the neighborhood. It was built in 1908 and is smaller than a typical farmhouse, with about 1,100 square feet, but it has a charming, cottage-like room attached to the garage in back that offers additional living space.

The living room is done in mid-century modern to boho style, with elegant furniture, a husk artwork, catchy lamps and plenty of natural light, there’s no TV here, only a statement artwork. The room opens up into a dining space with simple furniture and statement plants for decor. The kitchen is very pretty, with green cabinetry, a cozy corner bench seating and a green table and chairs, it looks very welcoming.

The bedroom is all neutral, with just some furniture and feels very peaceful, cozy and welcoming.
