Sometimes a staircase can make a statement, sometimes it highlights the overall décor, so pay attention to decorating as it’s an important part of your décor. Besides the style of the staircase itself, the balustrade and handrail are also important to keep the style and to accentuate the stairs. That’s why I’d like to share some cool handrail ideas that will fit many staircase styles and look awesome.
Wooden Handrails
Wooden handrails are classic, they have always been used for a chic warm feel. But today I’m not talking about boring usual wooden handrails – a cool balustrade will help you to highlight the handrail and to look adorable. Sheer glass balustrades with wooden handrails look super modern, cool and eye-catching though very warm and comfortable. A dark metal balustrade with warm wooden handrails look chic and beautiful, suitable for a minimalist or modern staircase. Driftwood is great for accentuating seaside home, leave them rough or whitewash; dark polished wooden beam handrails attached right to the walls look very contemporary. LED lights attached underneath the handrail will light up the way, so you needn’t turn on any lights when it’s dark.
Metal Handrails
Metal handrails are very modern and long-lasting. Brass or copper metal handrails are timeless, they easily fit almost any staircase style and look. Polished metal always looks cool and gives a chic touch to your space, even the simplest and smallest staircase will look cool with a metal handrail. Dark industrial metal handrails with lights underneath look great and fulfill an additional functional of lighting up the way. As for balustrades, no balustrade at all looks very modern and minimalist. Glass balustrades will highlight that it’s a modern space, and contrasting matte plywood balustrades, too. If you have a dark or light-colored space, rock neon bold handrails to stand out.
Cutout Handrails
A new and very hot trend in home décor is a cutout handrail, it may be difficult to install but still possible and will look great. Whatever walls you have, just cut out the handrails inside, you may cover them somehow – with stone or wood, for example, – or leave as they are for a clean minimalist look. Such a handrail is a cool idea for any modern home and it saves the space. One more nice touch can be added: you may add lights inside the cutout rails to light up the way without any additional lamps.
Rope Handrails
Thick jute rope handrails is a creative idea for any beachside or coastal home. They aren’t very functional but look so cute and nautical-inspired! You can attach just some thick jute rope to the wall for decor or make several layers of rope over the stairs.
