It’s August now and it’s not cold at all, even hot – but fall is coming and then winter, and we should aware of it. Soon it will get colder and in some parts of the country it’s going to be rather cold, so it’s high time to decide how you’ll keep yourself warm. A radiator is a timeless idea to feel comfy in any space of your home, and today I’m sharing stylish radiators that won’t spoil your decor and will keep you warm.
Satyendra Pakhale designed the Kangeri Nomadic Radiator to be a plug in and portable heater that is meant to warm up spaces close to the user. Its name comes from a kanger, a pot filled with hot embers, it is usually held by the Kashmiri people beneath their traditional clothing to keep warm. The main bulbous body of Kangeri Nomadic Radiator is made from powder-coated aluminum with an integrated oak wood handle. A power cord extends out from the base of the unit, which is held off the ground by three easy to maneuver wheels.
Daniel Liebeskind and Antrax designed the ‘Android’ radiator. Its volume recalls Japanese origami, with its unexpected geometrical facets that appear to be made from a sheet of paper, folded and folded over again. The ensuing design consists of a dynamic sequence of angles and lines, obtained in this case from a thin ‘metal page’ that creates shadows and plays with light.
Radiators are important for our homes when it’s cold but they are not always needed, so how can we use them the rest of the time? Blending discreetly into the bathroom and living room areas of the house, the extruded aluminum design is available as a vertical or horizontal unit. Named after it’s T-shaped cross section, the design can also be tailored to include shelves, a hanger or a towel rail.
