This creative sideboard by Adérito Soares and André Duarte is called Ego and its concept is multiplication of individual elements, grouped in a random order. Why Ego? Because it’s an egocentric and singular object, who lives in and for itself. The piece is manufactured from alder solid wood and finished applying white pigment using ‘stripping’ technique to obtain an alternation between white and natural color of wood, still feeling its porosity. The six drawers that make up the sideboard are covered with silver leaves, using a technique for simulating aging purple color. I love the originality of the sideboard – it’s kind of minimalist, rough but luxurious, it can accentuate any room.
